What a strange few days,we are a very close knit community up here,if we dont know a persons name we know thier face and always let on or say how do.I spoke to big Paul in the pub on Thursday night,Itold him nice to see you young man he replied nice to be here mate,he had been shot in the face by D. Bird.Lucky for him the shot just grazed his rather fleshy cheek,he was going to get the pellets removed @ Carlisle on Friday.i didnt know D Bird to speak to.I have been a passenger of his on a few occasions,a quiet sort. My father served in the Undaunted in the 40's. Dennis Terry, sadly died 8 yrs ago. I think his oppo was Matt Lowe who I'm sure served in this ship.

How about trying London Derry. Our Great run ashore days I'm sure somebody might like us ,Being we are nice sailors. Caused no trouble it would be nice too go back. Any thoughts.

On a recent coach trip to Plymouth, we took a local guide onboard to tour the city area. He was an ex Dockie and didn't have a good word to say about Gord. He reckoned that Devonport Dockyard employed 14,000 people at one time, now less than 3,000 with the threat to move the RN to Pompey. He also pointed out that work from the Dockyard had been moved to a certain Member of Parliaments constituency in Fife, to the detriment of the yard.
It baffles me how MP's for Scottish constituencies can vote for matters affecting England, when English MP's cannot do the same for Scottish matters.
I think the whole system should be given to Primary Schools as a project, and let them sort it out

Can't ever happen and WON'T ever happen - Saying a politician is fair is like saying you know an honest politican - - and the whole world knows that is something that just don't exist

In my part of the world,the Tories won with 19,000 votes, the rest got 29,000, this MUST be wrong,first past the post IS wrong, see below....

New Labour.29% = 188 seats

Lib/Dem....23% = 149 seats

the rest...12% = 79 seats
.......... =100%= 650 seats

Tory+libdems = 383

labour+libdems = 337

My answer to PR is simple,bit like me, Normal ballet, if no candicate gets 51% then seven days later,the top two face the people again,WE All know democracy is NOT cheap,But this system would be farer I think, what do you think?
